GEMS UIS Strikes Gold and Silver at Abu Dhabi Sports Championship Badminton Tournament
GEMS UIS has once again asserted its dominance in the world of sports, clinching both gold and silver in the Abu Dhabi Sports Championship U-19 Badminton Tournament held at the Raha International School, Abu Dhabi.
In a dazzling display of talent and sportsmanship, our terrific badminton players Joel Jino and Achuthan Sowmya Damodharan qualified remarkably from the semi-finals in Pool A and Pool B securing their spots in the finals. We are delighted to announce that Joel Jinu clinched the gold medal, while Achuthan Damodharan claimed the silver, showcasing exemplary skill and determination and proving that GEMS UIS stands tall in the face of competition.
Their dedication to excellence echoes the HPL values such as ACPs of Speed and Accuracy and VAAs of Practice and Perseverance instilled at GEMS UIS, making champions on and off the court.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated sports teacher, Mr. Vijayakumar Chidambaram, who stood by our players as a pillar of encouragement. The guidance and leadership of the Head of the Department Ms. Sonam Singh played a pivotal role in nurturing our badminton talents. Further, her participation and attainment of gold medal in the Unified Games designed to promote inclusivity and equality in sports gives our school another reason to celebrate.
GEMS UIS takes pride in providing state-of-the-art training facilities, enabling our athletes to hone their skills and compete at the highest level. These facilities are a testament to our commitment to nurturing sporting talent.
Congratulations to our outstanding players, supportive educators, and the entire GUIS community for this remarkable achievement.
